Chiavari Chair History

‘Tiffany’ or Chiavari Chairs are named after the coastal Italian city Chiavari. In 1807, a well-known craftsman, Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi, decided to improve the design of a collection of Parisian chairs that had been brought to Chiavari as models. In doing this, the elegantly charming Chiavari chair was born. The design combines function with style and over 200 years after its creation, the Chiavari is now the finest in premium event seating.
